Patient Reviews
Mar 03, 2024
Dr. Jarell went above and beyond for my aunt after she received an inappropriately aggressive treatment plan for a detected melanoma back in AZ from her regular dermatologist. While visiting in ME, the AZ dermatology practice told my aunt she needed to schedule a sentinel node biopsy immediately after a biopsy of a lesion back in AZ. Concerned about what we saw as potential side effects of a lymph node biopsy, in addition to heightened risks of anesthesia for a 90yo, we took my aunt to Dr. Jarell, who agreed that this treatment seemed unnecessarily risky. After reviewing the biopsy results from AZ, Dr. Jarell pointed out flaws with the biopsy and its interpretation that the AZ provider had made, and came up with a new treatment plan consisting of a proper biopsy deep enough to determine whether there was a risk of that melanoma having spread. The biopsy results allowed my aunt to avoid the high risks the AZ practice had urged her to take. Thank you Dr. Jarell.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams.
