In general, liposuction is quite safe and is a very good operation. In fact, it's one of the top most commonly performed
cosmetic procedures that plastic surgeons do. However, like all surgery, there are some risks
associated with this procedure. Some of the more common risks are bleeding, infection,
fluid collections that need to later be drained, small scars. The scars are very minimal but there are some scars.
And most commonly, the biggest risks of liposuction are generally those involving contour irregularities
following the procedure. There are other risks as well, which may be more serious,
such as damage to deeper structures from the liposuction cannula itself, such as blood vessels, nerves, or deeper parts of the abdomen.
These severe complications are generally quite rare when performed by a properly trained board certified
