Liposuction procedure is fortunately a very safe procedure that's one of the more common plastic surgery procedures performed
in the United States today. The risks do include, as it is a surgical procedure,
standard surgical risks of all patients undergoing any procedure do apply. Infection and bleeding, risks of anesthesia,
and wound healing complications, those can all occur, but fortunately are very, very rare, making this a very safe procedure.
Specifically to liposuction, one of the major risks would be contour deformities after the suction procedure.
As the cannula that's utilized to remove the fatty tissue from under the skin is passed in throughout the area,
there can occasionally be some small areas of irregularity or dimpling in some areas.
Fortunately, this is uncommon and fortunately can be corrected if there are significant or bothersome
to both the surgeon and the patient. So in general, liposuction tends to be a very well-received, a procedure with a very
good safety profile, and also a very high patient satisfaction rate.
