I've been seeing Amy for over five years. In the beginning I couldn't function well on my own, I had little coping skills and my trauma was running rampant throughout my life. Amy has been patient with me even on days when I don't want to do anything. She lets me lead the sessions and gives encouragement when times are tough and everything feels too dark to handle. Amy has taught me how to find the strength in myself and stay anchored in the now. Yes she can be firm but she knows exactly when to push and when to be soft. I am so hard on myself and I used to be so mean to myself, Amy has taught me to have some self compassion, identity my feelings at their root and validate myself then, with that, I can find solutions that I thought weren't possible. The skills she has taught me are skills I use everyday throughout the day and help me to actually be able to live life instead of being in fear of it.
