I'm a disabled veteran who had to find a mental health provider outside the VA system due to high provider turnover rate which meant I had 12 psychiatrists in 15 yrs, a complete lack of flexibility in regards to medications (opposed to most Controlled drugs despite possible therapeutic benefits & a drug formulary that makes trying new Rx drugs difficult) plus a hard to navigate bureaucracy that restricts access to efficacious therapies & favors rules/regulations over the professional opinions of their providers.I struggled to find a psychiatrist in the community but finally found NRBH. I was lucky to have Angel assigned as my provider & she has helped improve my life immensely. She truly listens, is open to dialogue about treatment goals & possible pharmacotherapies, puts the well-being of her patients first & doesn't succumb to pressure/intimidation like other providers who refuse to Rx certain drugs because of the DEA's overzealous prosecution of Dr.s.I'm forever grateful to her.
