Outstanding! Very caring, understanding, explains conditions in language the average person understands, goes above & beyond to care for his patients. No one better. I had a variety of conditions that were debilitating including concussions with residual issues impacting my vision. He reviewed my history in-depth & ordered bloodwork which confirmed previously undiagnosed Lyme Disease as well as CIRS. The Lyme was undiagnosed & untreated by other physicians, possibly for years as per bloodwork, & subsequently is now a chronic, ongoing illness that will impact my health Treatment came so late, my symptoms including extreme joint & muscle pain, exhaustion & fatigue, migraines, ischemic pancolitis, syncope, arthritis, seizure disorder, heart issues that require a pacemaker, heat induced anaphylaxis & much more. Recommended in-home testing showed mold but not at an extremely high level. But after working for almost 30 years in a very old, damp, mold-filled environment, it was obvious why I have CIRS. As I think about my father’s lifetime of chronic illnesses, I believe he, too, may have had CIRS. I have been so ill for so long, I am so thankful for Dr Villella’s care, concern & expertise. Yes, I am still struggling. My PCP admits I have probably been misdiagnosed for many years. And missing the Lyme Disease exasperated the problems. She recently admitted that my health issues are out of her understanding & I need to see a “functional” physician to seek treatment. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover this type of specialist or treatment. I’m searching for a physician or clinic that will allow me to establish a payment plan so I can pursue this further. If not for Dr Villella, I would still have no understanding of my health issues & have no direction. I owe so much to Dr Villella—I cannot adequately express my gratitude. He is a great human AND a great optometrist.
