In 2017, I developed acute ulcerative colitis. I lost 20 % of my weight, and almost died. Dr Gamsey literally saved my life. I’ve been his patient ever since. (Colitis never goes away.). My colitis has been in total remission since then, with the exception of a brief flare-up, which Dr Gamsey quickly got under control. In addition to dealing with my gastrointestinal issues, for a while I was having severe pain and weakness in my hips and shoulders. Neither my primary care physician nor my orthopedic surgeon could identify the cause. I explained the symptoms to him and he identified side effects of a statin medication I was taking as a possible cause. I stopped taking that med and the pain and weakness was gone in a week. Dr Gamsey listens very carefully to me, and explains everything very clearly. He’s my absolute favorite doctor, and I rely on him for recommendations for other specialists .
