I waited a very long time to get an appointment with a Black or Brown OBGYN (representation and feeling heard is important). During my appointment, Dr. Bess provided eye contact, she listened to my concerns and questions and educated me. As someone who is nearing 30 and contemplating making advanced plans for fertility in the future, Dr. Bess provided guidance to me on reproduction, what age is the best for egg maturity, how our eggs age with us, etc. Of course, getting disrobed for a stranger is uncomfortable but Dr. Bess talked with me throughout the entire visit about general things like my interest which almost made me forget about the God awful moment everyone hates, the pap! I didn't have a long wait to see her and I felt like my needs were addressed. This is the best experience I've had with an OBGYN.
