How likely are you to recommend Dr. Whelan?
Due to an issue with my pregnancy, admitted to the hospital for 3 weeks and gave birth at 34 weeks. The last week (when I gave birth), Dr. Whelan was the doc who did rounds on me. She was really great and wanted to help me have the labor and delivery I desired. Despite the complications, she tried to help me go into labor naturally like I wanted, and had some good suggestions for how to get labor going, including an intense breast pump regimen from a study at her alma mater. (Ultimately due to more complications I needed an induction, but I did not need oxytocin (pit) so maybe it helped!) She herself has had a premature NICU baby, so I really felt seen and heard and trusted her perspective since I know she's been through a similar situation! I ended up giving birth during the night shift when she wasn't on call, but she checked up on me and baby afterwards.
