I have been Dr. Machi's patient for almost 20 years, and under his care I have managed my depression in ways I couldn't have imagined in the previous 25 years. Dr. Machi is a brain chemistry guy, not a talk therapist, and he's taught me to believe that antidepressants (and other medications) work. But it has to be the right meds in the right dosages. Long ago, a doctor told me that treating depression without medication was like bloodletting or leeches. Machi found thr right stuff at the right time for me, and my life has been. I continue seeing a talk therapist now and then, and I find that helpful. But without the meds Machi has prescribed, I don't think I would have found that process nearly so helpful. I'm sure he's probably not the right guy for everybody, but my experience and that of some others I know has shown him to be the very best ever.
