Dr. Merritt was the on-call dr. when I was in Winnie for early-term induction. It was a complicated and difficult pregnancy (prolapsing, advanced maternal age, GDM, history of preeclampsia, and precipitous labor). During the induction, my placenta tore and I was bleeding out. In 7 minutes, Dr Merritt assessed me, calmed me, prepped me, and began performing a c-section and transfusing blood. She was decisive and precise, and she saved my life and my child's--this is not an overstatement. Afterward, she compassionately managed my pain and ensured I progressed with my recovery while I was in the ICU. She is direct, honest, and straight with you, but also incredibly compassionate-- a real human being who is doing a job she feels "called" to do, not a white coat and a stethoscope. There is a reason all the other healthcare rating sites have her as a 5/5 --perfect score--she is amazing. I wish more doctors--and people--were like her.
