One day I had a severe headache (to the point that I was vomiting from the pain) that sent me to the emergency room. Turned out to be a very large brain tumor (larger than a golf ball) and the sudden pain onset was due to either it or my brain bleeding. Short story is that Dr. Day performed an emergency craniotomy the next evening (the fear was that I would not make it through that night). Dr. Day has a great, dry, sense of humor. He is very good at explaining some of the heavy medical concepts and terms (as will be found in MRI and biopsy reports) in layman's terms. During rounds and office visits he often has multiple residents (MDs) and-or students accompanying him. As I write this it's been almost 5.5 years since that (first) surgery. Unfortunately the tumor recurred, leading to a second surgery (also by Dr. Day) to remove a marble-sized tumor a little over three years later. My family and I are grateful for Dr. Day (and his team).
