Patient Reviews
Apr 13, 2021
Was referred to Dr Shafiq by another Orthopedic Surgeon who said I needed to refer me to a trama trained surgeon to do my complicated clavicle surgery. At my initial appointment I was really impressed with Dr Shafiq who listened to my concerns, answered my questions and explained my Xrays in detail in a way I could understand. Never felt rushed. He has a conservative approach and is never quick to want one to have surgery unless absolutely necessary. 3 weeks later at my follow up appointment new Xrays were taken and after reviewing them Dr Shafiq counseled that in his opinion he recommended I delay any surgery for at least another two months to give my body more of an opportunity to heal itself without surgery. Finding a surgeon who has great communication and listening skills and is not ready to jump right to surgery immediately ( except in emergency of course ) lets me know I am in good hands. Highly recommend Dr Shafiq Babar at Johns Hopkins

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
