Due to a massively large prostate creating hydronephrosis and kidney damage I needed to have what is known as a simple prostatectomy. Dr. Benjamin Cohen was the surgeon and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. He performed robotic laparoscopic surgery. Essentially this form of simple prostatectomy surgery (anything but simple) takes the inner 80% of the prostate out while avoiding damaging nerve endings and blood vessels . This avoids incontinence and allows for erections in the future. The surgery was a total success. I now can urinate the same way I did when I was 20 years old (I’m 77 years old) with complete control unlike before the surgery. Obviously erections at the age of 77 are not what they were when I was 20 years old, but there is zero degradation in capacity from before the surgery.Communication with Dr. Cohen was excellent from the very first stage through the final visit six weeks after the surgery that just happened. For prostate surgery this is the doctor.
