In October 2024, I had lumbar spine surgery by Dr. Benjamin Ditty of Neuroscience and Spine Associates in Naples and Fort Myers. The goal was to clean out the space left from a leaking disc after a rupture 6 years before and give me some relief from bone-on-bone back and sciatic nerve pain. My pain relief was instantaneous after surgery. I didn’t even feel I needed much pain medication while in the hospital or at home thereafter. The incision was tender to the touch but otherwise not painful at all. The nerve pain, which I knew would be slow healing, has been noticeably better each week. He was not the only neurosurgeon I consulted, but his plan was the best of those offered. Dr. Ditty certainly had me, my pain level and my successful recuperation top of mind. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ditty and his team. If you have a back issue requiring spinal surgery, please don’t delay seeing Dr. Ditty.
