I was born with a severe open bite which caused TMJ symptoms, and accelerated bone deterioration (the condyle} that could have led to having permanent lockjaw if not corrected. When my insurance co denied the request for surgery, deeming it as a cosmetic procedure, Dr. Porter fought for me and provided additional medical proof that my surgery was medically necessary. My surgery was finally approved and there are now no visible signs that I ever had major facial surgery. He truly saved me.
