Dr. Altenhofen was a key member of the care team for my father at UCLA while he recovered from heart bypass and valve replacement surgery. He is kind, compassionate, and thorough in his care. Dr. Altenhofen answered all our questions and ensured we were informed about the daily care plan. He made certain that both the patient and family were comfortable with the plan of care. He did not rush the recovery process and was very diligent in ensuring everything was done in proper order. His bedside manner is perfect for the critical care unit, providing reassurance and comfort during a challenging time.
