I'm chronically ill & now disabled by a rare autoimmune disease that I've had for 20 years. I was diagnosed in Naples, FL, but moved to Vero in 2015. I was petrified of leaving my amazing rheumy in Naples, but my doctor recommended Dr. J in Vero at the time. He was amazing as well. VERY on top of current practice, but he retired into academia a few years later. Well that's when I panicked because there wasn't any rheumy with the experience & qualifications needed to take care of my needs. Then I ran into Dr. McKnight. Who is he: He's a kind, caring, compassionate, funny, understanding, doctor. He knows current research, BUT he does not have a God complex, so when something intricate comes up he is more than willing to ask an expert to consult (think Mayo or Cleveland clinic) THAT IS A HUGE DEAL! I want a dr. willing to work with a team to treat my disease. That's Dr. McKnight! His staff is not mean, Carol and Steve are kind people. Get to know them before downing them.
