Patient Reviews
Jun 24, 2017
I was surprised with a bicuspid aortic valve diagnosis. Never knew I was born with this defect. My fam practice dr said my heart sounded funny. Within days I was sent to Dr Atkins for open heart surgery and was scared out of my wits. This man is outstanding. My scar is only about 3" long and a fine white line. I did exactly what I was told for recovery and feel great. If you have been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve with severe stinosis, it does NOT mean you need to have a 12" ugly scar

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
