Too many orthopedic surgeries over the years for me to count, but this was a first: a personal, but professional, conversation with an anesthesiologist! It was my first time as a patient at Barnes and both incidents were impressive. There's always anxiety pre-op, but Dr Burke erased any concerns I had. He thoroughly explained what he would be doing before and during the surgery and emphasized he would be present and along side me while I was asleep. I wish he could be made aware of my thanks!
