I came to dr. Taunt for a second opinion based on an opinion from a very good friend who had had surgery on her knee. What I had was a knee replacement that went sideways! After a complete knee replacement in December, I was in physical therapy and heard a 'pop' noise and found that I had broken the top of my patella. After having surgery in January to repair the patella the doctor found that the bottom of my patella had also broken off. Waiting for everything to settle down and the swelling to go down I developed a Staph infection in my knee. After a 3rd open surgery to clean out the knee joint and replace the necessary plastic parts I was on and am still on Antibiotics until the monthly blood tests come back with no traces of infection. Dr. Taunt put into prospective my choices going forward with any further treatment. He was very kind but to the point for making me see my options in realistic terms. The original doctor never really mentioned any of what dr. Taunt said.
