Dr. Saunders will provide you with honest answers to your questions; he won’t sugar-coat anything he tells you. I like that in a doctor! It helps you to take seriously the part you have to play in maintaining your renal function. It’s not all up to your doctor to solely help you with renal insufficiency, and they alone cannot be expected to reverse renal damage. You partner with your nephrologist, and Dr. Saunders will explain to you what is required from you as a partner. He is a thoroughly open, receptive, intelligent, and sympathetic physician. If you can get an appointment with him, thank your lucky stars.
