It’s been four years this July 1 that my son passed away from sickle cell disease. It was sudden and it was very difficult for us. Being a nurse by profession, I’m not quite sure how I made it through seeing my child in the condition that he was in. I knew he was ill, but I did not expect to bury my son. Dr. Whitley was amazing as well as the nurse that cared for him and came and spoke to us initially. It was during Covid so it was a very difficult time. I never got a chance to say thank you to her for her kindness, compassion, and her giving us a moment to say our prayers and our goodbyes to my son. He was 39 years old today I was looking at his obituary and autopsy, and I saw her name. I was in a fog when I left the hospital and I never got a chance to say thank you for her kindness. my time there was short, but she was professional, patient And gentle with my family thank you Dr. Whitley.
