I needed a crown installed and it was a difficult installation requiring a prosthodontist: Dr. Curtis Jansen. However, I have had dental phobia for quite a long time. My blood pressure shoots way up before the dentist even enters the room. Jansen was very approachable, reassuring, and communicative, with a great sense of humor in the midst of my anxiety. Every step in the process he informed me of what was coming next and asked me how I was doing and how I was feeling. Moreover, just as precise, proficient, and controlled as Dr. Jansen is, his office staff is as inviting, warm and welcoming as the patient enters the front office.One curious event that happened–taking Valium for my anxiety–actually raised by blood pressure which is a paradoxical reaction to a mild sedative that is supposed to lower it. Dr. Jansen alluded to the fact that my response might be anomalous and contrary to what is an expected reaction. I appreciated and verified that my blood pressure rose astron
