Patient Reviews
Sep 22, 2022
I was recently diagnosed with Barret's Esophagus, a precancerous condition that could lead to Esophageal Cancer (EAC). While the pathology report said no dysplasia (no precancerous cells), I wanted to be in a program to prevent the progression to EAC. When I found out that MSKCC had created a screening program for people like me, and that 99% of them are able to avoid surgery and cancer. I called for an appointment. While she is an elite surgeon to treat EAC (according to independent Medifind) she created this surveillance program as she felt the best way to treat EAC is to prevent it in the first place. She is kind, competent, and reassuring. She spent a great deal of time going over all aspects of my care, and patiently answering all my questions. She will personally repeat my upper endoscopy next year and manage my anti-reflux medications and my care. I feel very fortunate knowing I am in Dr. Molena's care and that she participates in Medicare.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
