I started seeing Dr. Bar-Ziv 6 months ago after having to drop my old psychiatrist due to changes in pharmacy laws. I was pretty anxious about seeing a new psychiatrist since I had been going to my previous doctor for about 8 years, but Dr. Bar-Ziv and her office manager Jessie made the transition unintimidating. Dr. Bar-Ziv is thorough - we meet once a month for an hour - and I always feel safe and listened to in our appointments. As a new patient, she made minimal changes to my medications. When I expressed fear ('I can't go') about going out of the country for vacation for the first time since COVID, Dr. Bar-Ziv told me straight up: yes you can, and you will (I did!). While I can't directly speak to her care in a crisis setting, something tells me she would handle it with grace and expertise. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Bar-Ziv to anyone looking for compassionate and effective psychiatric care.
