I was struggling to find a new GI doc after I moved to Champaign. I was even blackballed by Dr Nugent, head of GI at Christie. She turned me away because of a medication I was on. Who does that??? And the morning of an appointment I waited for, for 2 months. WTH?Found Dr. R with OSF - he listened and heard me. He cares for his patients and I know he wants to help me. I only have 12” of colon left and a lot of small intestine gone after 3 surgeries. I live with symptoms and knew I needed to find a champion GI doc here. He did procedures pretty quickly and after labs, tests, procedures, etc. we worked on a new treatment plan. Dr. R. Has 42 years of experience. He’s kind, he held my hands and told me I know you need to be heard, I have read all about your 42 years with this disease and I’d like to work with you to save you from another surgery - I was touched. He's a good man and I pray that we can find the right treatment for me. I’d recommend him if you need an experienced GI doc.
