In 2013 I experienced a sudden loss of vision in my left eye. The resident I spoke with at Georgetown told me to drop everything and get there asap. As it turned out I gascm a derached retina. By the time I got to see Dr. Wagner it was late in the day, but he insisted for my sake on doing a bubble procedure. And I recall he did not leave me until he was satisfied all was well. It was nearly 8pm! The next day I saw him in Rockville. He proclaimed success. After that I saw him several times for routine checkups and I recall having wonderful conversations with him on a wide range of subjects. Dr. Wagner is something of a 'Renaissance man'. Two years ago when I had a detachment in the other eye I called him and left a message. He got back to me in 20 minutes and explained that if he needed to operate he couldn't guarantee an OR. He recommended John Woo up in Vienna. It worked out splendidly. I can't thank him enough. Dr. Wagner saved the sight if the only two eyes I have!!
