Overall, I am happy with my experience with Dr. Gutman and would recommend him. I went to Dr. Gutman for a chronic anal fissure. I tried to heal it on my own, but nothing was working and this was something I have never experienced before. He gave me stuff to recommend doing. A lot of the things helped but a couple of things did not. Everyone is different for what works for them, so it was a lot of trial and error. I went through a lot of back and forth between getting better and worse. It was a painful experience, but I ended up giving it time and ended up healing the fissure after 4 months. He was totally against surgery for a fissure and it was something that you need to give time for with good habits. Unfortunately, I developed an anal abscess a month after I healed it and had to see a colorectal surgeon to drain it, and then got a small fistula to surgically repair, but it was an easy fix since it came from a fissure.
