I had a triple A aortic dissection. It was an emergency operation and Dr. Folsom saved my life. Survival for a 65 year old man with a Triple A is about 2%. Anyway, I had very complicated surgery and he was spectacular. I would recommend him to anyone. The only thing I would say is that aftercare is missing for aortic patients. Dr. Folsom drew an aortic-type figure and told me it was serious. That was the aftercare. Also, if you suffer from depression and you have a chance to discuss your operation before it happens, it would be a good idea to mention the depression. Almost everyone gets some blues after open heart surgery, but if you are a chronic depressive, such as myself, there is a good chance it will show its ugly head.
