I was abused as a child by my dentist (Restrained for procedures that were painful because Novocaine wouldn't numb me). The doctor would give me so many shots of it that I would be sick for a couple of days. I went 30 years without dental care and in therapy for over 6 years to just be able to make an appt. Dr. Whalen was kind, and took the time to listen to my story. He explained every step of the way and ALWAYS asked if it was OK for him to do the next step. It made me feel in control.
