Patient Reviews
Apr 09, 2024
Dr. Sherry joined the team of medical professionals overseeing my daughter's care at Seattle Children's Hospital in 1987, four years after her birth. She had an unexplained autoimmune condition that remained undiagnosed until she turned four, when Dr. Sherry identified it as Infantile Multisystem Inflammatory Disease, also known as Neonatal Inflammatory Disease (NOMID), an extremely rare disorder. Despite never walking and enduring significant pain along with numerous complications, she received treatment and evaluations from various specialists. It was thanks to Dr. Sherry's expertise that she finally received medication that improved her quality of life significantly. She lived until she was 18 and a half years old, though her stature remained that of a petite toddler. Words cannot fully capture the exceptional dedication and compassion of Dr. Sherry as both a doctor and a person. I later learned that despite receiving an offer to transfer to P.A Children's Hospital, he chose to stay true to his commitment of caring for special and unique patients like my daughter. Remarkably, the medical team, including Dr. Sherry, had not expected my daughter to survive beyond the age of five. Years later, I had the privilege of reconnecting with Dr. Sherry in Pennsylvania while accompanying my other daughter to a college interview. Since then, I had lost touch with him until today, when I stumbled upon his profile on the internet and learned that Dr. David Sherry, MD, now holds the distinguished title of Professor of Pediatrics Emeritus. This recognition is no surprise given his exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication to his patients.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams.
