I have been seeing Dr Mayer since he first arrived at Sharp. He's knowledgeable, kind and very competent. His method of interacting is low-key and calming. Considering that I have had moderate to severe arthritis for over twenty years and have no joint damage to date, I know that I am getting great results under his care. He coordinates well with my primary physician when that is necessary. He and his nurse assist me with timely authorizations when needed. He keeps up with the latest research and answers my questions about why new drugs/treatment are showing promise or not. When I inquire about possible modifications to my treatments, he listens and responds with an appropriate recommendation. He is willing to discuss my medications so I always feel like a partner with regard to my care. I just moved out of state and must find a new doctor. He will be hard to replace.
