Patient Reviews
Jul 13, 2023
Several weeks ago I had a cooking accident that caused a blade to be lodged in my finger. I went to Rapides Regional Hospital ER with appliance still in my finger and was very fortunate to have Dr. McKee on rotation call from out of town that week. The treatment was very positive because her procedure to debris, clean and close the wound saved me from probable emergency surgery had it been taken care of by the ER doctor. Because of her expertise as a hand specialist, she was able to make a more educated decision to wrap and allow healing without stitches. The extremely deep cut at this time is showing very little scarring or evident of trauma. Her detail and instructions on caring for the wound were very clear and the follow up appointment was timely and pleasant. May I add that her PA was also very attentive and professional, adding to the entire experience. I feel very fortunate that my accident occurred when she was available that week and received the best care for my finger.
