My experience with Dr. Mathios & washu,siteman,barnes went above and beyond my expectations. After my GP discovered a brain mass & suggested I go to a research hospital, I met with Dr Mathios. He thoroughly explained my options in my first appointment with him and I felt confident enough in his ability that I didn't feel I needed a second opinion. He performed my craniotomy, he was able to do a total resection of my tumor. He had a great bedside manner too and has been able to answer all my questions and put my mind at ease. I have never had a bad experience with any of the WashU Neuro team either. I live about 2-3 hrs from stl so he and his office always make sure that it's easy to schedule follow-up imaging and appointments on the same day. I was assigned a nurse navigator through siteman,washu,barnes that coordinates with all my providers and the entire team has treated me like they would want their own family to be treated. I can't say enough good things about my experience!
