Dr. McCanse took me as a patient in November of2013. I had rectal cancer, late stage 3, and close to spreading. He said there was no time for chemo or radiology and in first week of January 2012, he removed 4 inches of my rectum, 12 inches of colon, 17 lymph nodes, and appendix. Because of the removal of so much rectum I had a long, difficult recovery but I was intact. No colostomy bag. Almost six years later I am cancer free and grateful for his bold moves.
