I saw Dr. Pietrucha as her patient, when she was fairly early in her career. I’d been Dx with adolescent-onset hydrocephalus, after full blackout & seizures in HS. 27 in one year. Rather than subject me to lifelong brain surgery & meds, as the all-male Cornell team wanted, she instead began intense monitoring and check-ins. I’m 55 this year. I was Dx with pEDS at 51, but have not had ANY brain surgeries, or meds so far - & haven’t had a seizure in almost 30 years. Thank you for listening to me, and yourself. Thank you for giving me a longer life. Thank you for helping so many others. I hope you make it to 100 years old. Love and thanks, Sharon (Lawley) R.
