back surgery in 2018 at ascension hospital. During surgery they punctured the sac that carries the nerves along the spine, and they had to do a blood patch. 2 days later the patch failed, I was leaking spinal fluid out of my incision. 2nd patch done. Still xtreme pain, found 2 infections in my incision. Meningitis and ecoli. 11 days in hospital and Dr Mascarenhas saved my life. I went back to see him for a follow up and he said my infections were gone, but my heart rate was 149bpm. I told him I had a hard time breathing so he sent me to the ER. They found both lungs full of blood clots. 3 more days in the hospital. And again the Dr saved my life. He was with me daily for updates. Giving me hope when my other Dr told my family they were doing everything they can but be prepared!
