My father was referred to Dr. Yoon after having 4 strokes in a 10-day period. Based on imaging and clinical assessment, it was deemed that severe carotid stenosis was the likely culprit. With no time to waste, Dr. Yoon and his team made immediate arrangements for surgical intervention in the form of a carotid endarterectomy. Scheduled less than 48 hours later, the surgery was conducted. Right after surgery I was called by Dr. Yoon personally, which meant a lot to me. What impressed me even more was this doctor's choice of words; he stated, "Your father did great!," not the usual: "The surgery went well." As evidenced by the subsequent carotid ultrasound and patient's own perceived feeling of wellness, the surgery was subjectively and objectively-speaking, a resounding success! Nearly 3 months later, Dad has been stroke-free and rehabilitated back to 95% of his pre-strokes baseline.
