I was referred to Dr. Barnes by my UNC colorectal surgeon after having a total abdominal colectomy and Ileoanal anastomosis surgery. He specializes in my J-Pouch and I am very satisfied with the care he provides. He always greets me with a smile and has a pleasant disposition with impeccable bedside manners. He is thorough with his explanations to my questions and takes my concerns seriously. He and his staff are quick to respond to messages I send through MyChart, and I often receive his responses well after office hours have ended. I have encountered a lot of GI specialists throughout my battle with Ulcerative Colitis and Dr. Barnes ranks as one of the best I have seen. I will continue to see him for my GI and J-Pouch care and highly recommend him to anyone in need of GI care. He is one of the best!
