I’m glad that a doctor acknowledges of communicating to infants as early as before birth. Retiring after several years as a NICU nurse I was always laughed at whenever I talk to babies with comments “One of these days those babies will answer you back” or “Those babies will talk with an accent”. I felt that even as babies they can hear or respond to you.Also was when I darkened their incubators to get them rest from bright lights for being under bright lights for 24 hours. I was talking and dimming babies s’ incubators before research were done about it. So glad that what I have been doing before made sense. In fact mothers commented when they brought their babies after discharged that taping my voice and playing it to them responds to them.
