How likely are you to recommend Dr. Halajian?
I've been seeing Dr. Halajian for years and here's why she had been a great HCP for me: she listens openly and empathetically to whatever is ailing me and I've never felt judgement from her when talking about my family decisions. She takes a holistic view on my overall health, helping me strategize about medications, contraindications and side effects. To me, she has been very supportive of the birth control and helps me be as informed as possible on all the options and what might work best for where I'm at. She is also very cautious about prescribing medications like xanax and I trust that she's balancing both my immediate and long term needs when prescribing potentially addictive drugs. She also takes my health questions seriously and I never feel gaslit or like she's making light of the issues I'm experiencing. On one occasion, her response was: "You've now brought this concern to me twice and even though I *think* everything is okay, because it's bothering you so much let's go ahead and refer you to a specialist to get to the bottom of what's going on." Finally, I think it's really important to feel like you can fully trust your HCP and be honest with them about your recreational drug use, whatever that might be. I trust Dr. H to take my own personal choices into account when assessing my overall health and react nonjudgementally but still with safety in mind. I have recommended Dr. H to other friends looking for a new HCP and I will continue to do so - provided she's able to take new patients!
