Dr. Berne was my parents' physician for over 20 years. I was the caretaker and had power of attorney concerning my parents health care. If I had a question or concern, Dr. Berne always returned my call and took time to explain or advise me. Of course I only called when necessary. Sometimes they needed a change in medication or needed to change the schedule of when they took their medication. If they needed a different specialist, she always referred them to someone that we could trust. A few times she advised us to go to the emergency room when she felt that a full work-up was needed -- she was always correct. I will always be grateful for her thoughtfulness, kindness, skill and knowledge, and for taking such excellent care of my parents.
