Dr. Vick was on call this weekend. My regular oncologist is Dr. Elyse Lower. I called Dr. Lower's office because I woke up with substantial pain and swelling in the lymph nodes of my right armpit and I feared it might be a regional recurrence of the breast cancer for which I was treated 8 years ago. Dr. Vick called back within minutes of me leaving a message with the weekend call service. He was so very kind and asked me a number of questions. He quickly ascertained that the lymph node swelling was due to the Covid-19 vaccine I received in my right arm one week ago. He told me what OTC medications I could take to ease the pain and swelling and also recommended using ice for the swelling. Dr. Vick has a lovely, reassuring manner and I was grateful that he was the doctor who took my call.
