I am a retired vascular surgeon in Rochester, NY but I had never met or even heard of Dr. Merin until a few minutes before I was wheeled into the OR for a knee replacement surgery the day before yesterday. He was a gentleman, straightforward and caring, naturally adapting his pre-op discussion to my knowledge of medicine. We got along very well. I had a spinal anesthetic with IV sedation. After waking up, I had return of sensation exactly as expected. He visited me in recovery to check that all was well. He inspired confidence and I could not have asked for a more trouble-free anesthetic. I would definitely recommend Dr. Merin, based on this experience, to a loved one or family member, even to my dear wife. Jerry Svoboda, MD, FACS
