Upon getting pregnant for the first time I was told to schedule a visit with each doctor in the practice to get to know them. I felt tossed around, unheard, and like there was no continuity of care. Dr. SMF introduced herself to me, listened to my concerns and eased my anxieties. She had a way of taking the most vulnerable time in my life, when medical professionals kept telling me what to do with my body, and made me feel safe. She stressed that I had a say in my own medical care, and could make choices. Dr. SMF is attentive, kind and patient, making me feel respected and that I’m not just a number. No matter what the waiting room looks like she always has time to answer any questions or concerns; she makes herself available and focuses on the individual. She is supportive, and somehow makes me feel like my wins are her own. I feel like I am seeing a friend that has my back rather than a stranger with a stethoscope. I thought bedside manner was a thing of the past, until I met her.
