After a traumatic birth in a different hospital with my first child, the anxiety I felt during this second (more difficult) pregnancy was high. Dr. Mayabb at every visit would lower my fears with unlimited answers to every question that my husband and I always had an abundance of. In L&D, she found that my daughter’s umbilical cord had not only wrapped twice around her neck and was causing hypoxia, but the cord had also prolapsed. This superwoman coached me through everything, to push with an epidural and without contractions, which felt like being verbally guided across a rope while blindfolded. I trusted her so much that not once did I have any doubt, hesitation or fear. <6mins later, my daughter was born, and with heat and oxygen, as healthy as can be. This kind of trust and unshakeable dependability is all anyone wants in a medical professional, especial one that holds the life of both you and child quite literally in their hands.
