At Baycare Cardiac Cath Lab, I experienced medical negligence committed by a doctor during and after a stent procedure. I advised that I would refuse to treat with that cardiologist any further. Dr. Gary Idelchik took over my care and I could not have been more pleased and fortunate. He had to go back in and fix the other doctor’s misplaced stent, which was actually blocking an arterial juncture in my heart. At the same time Dr. Idelchik put in two additional stents, one to repair a significant congenital defect that no one had ever diagnosed before in 10 years. In post-op he explained in detail what he had done and why in a straightforward manner, without criticizing anyone’s prior work. This doctor is extremely thorough and professional and I feel what he did for me was nothing short of life-saving. Any organization that would fire this man while retaining other, less competent doctors must have some serious dysfunction going on at the upper management level, and is following
