My lungs were affected by pneumonia and weren't going back to their normal state. Dr. Goldstein took over my case after the original doctor retired. He immediately tested me for Alpha 1 which is a genetic disorder. I tested positive and am now on weekly infusions so that my lung function doesn't get any worse. In 10 years, my lung function has remained the same. Dr. Goldstein is very knowledgeable about Alpha 1. If you believe that your lung function is going down hill, see Dr. Goldstein for a simple blood test.
