Dr. Gavin Hickey has been one of the few shining stars in the dark sky that covered my world almost 2 years ago. At only 43 yrs old, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. I had always been healthy and had no idea how to navigate this new journey. Dr. Hickey has helped me understand & accept this new permanent condition. He has explained any and every question I have brought to him. He has remained positive even when I haven't been. He has shared ideas for coping with so much change & provided resources to improve not only my cardiovascular health but my mental health & quality of life now that most of my life is very different due to the PAH. I can honestly say Dr. Hickey is the one person who listened to me when I was lost and confused... He is the one person who showed me that its natural to feel that way and what to do to get through it. And I am eternally grateful.
